Airdyne SABIR pods were created to allow customers a faster way to get sensors onto an aircraft using pods that are already aerodynamically rated and ready to integrate sensors and antennas. In this way customers can save months, if not years, of typical pod development, testing and fielding time.
To further speed your schedule, Airdyne has various workstation, AV Rack and Power Module solutions to mount LRU’s, provide power and the means to operate the pod from inside the aircraft. Workstations and AV Racks are an open architecture that allows the customer to choose only what they require to reduce costs and further speed schedule even more. One of the best parts is everything SABIR is roll on/off and a dedicated aircraft is not required.

Airdyne Pods are modular and scalable and can accommodate a multitude of sensors on the market ranging from Radars, EO/IR sensors, Multi and Hyperspectral, LIDAR, CBRNE, Reconnaissance Cameras, Antennas from HF to Microwave, Air Sampling and more.
Sensors can even be upgraded in the future while keeping the existing pod keeping your investment well into the future. Both pod shape and pod skins can be modified to accommodate various sensors to provide optical and RF transparency to accommodate various sensor and RF combinations.
Customers who already have pods can fly them on the SABIR AS-7 struts and Airdyne’s roll on/off Power, Workstation and AV Rack solutions provide a convenient way to get them flying.
From basic EO/IR turrets, Optical Cameras, LIDAR up through Multi-and Hyper Spectral Sensors and more, SABIR pods are the solutions. Even the most demanding communications requirements from basic communications, datalinks through SIGINT/EW antennas can be ccommodated. Even microwave antennas with complex wave guide requirements, with transmit power up through thousands of watts have been flown with SABIR pods and the SABIR system.
Pods can be configured with single up through multiple sensors, antennas, supporting “Black Boxes” cabling, and electrical power. For more robust requirements dual pods can be configured.
The pods facilitate customers flying full C4ISR solutions and/or specialized mission equipment, for a wide range of mission types in a compact, modular solution. Even Maritime Automatic Identifications System (AIS) , GPS and Over the horizon satellite communications requirements are easily supported. Military datalink antennas or all types can be configured into your SABIR pod solution.
SABIR pods provide a basic aerodynamic form factor and Airdyne will help customersby recommending the pod that best fits their sensors. Have a sensor that doesn’t quite Fit in any pod? Airdyne has simple solutions to reconfigure pod skins and internal mounting structures to handle unique sensor form factors. In other words customers are not limited by SABIR Pods shapes.
Airdyne can also equip pods with various add on accessories such as optical windows, retractable elevators to raise and lower sensors below a pod. Specific pod skins can be used that meet the most demanding RF transparency requirements. Covers that open and close, cooling systems, and more are all available. Cabling for signal and power can be configured for legacy and new generations standards. Pods can even be painted to meet your specific aircraft colors or mission needs. Customer lettering and Logos can also be applied.
SABIR pods provide excellent full hemispherical 360 degree or directional radiation patterns. Frequencies from Kilohertz up to Gigahertz bands are supported with SABIR Pods.

What is in the box?
SABIR PODS all come with Environmental Storage and Loading Containers (ESLC). The best part is no specialized ground handling Equipment or loaders are required to hang pods. The ESLC serves as the loading system and is configured with wheels or low friction skids based on customer requirements.
The ESLC internal and external structure supports and protects The pods while being stored outside or inside, and throughout many modal forms of logistical transport.
